Saint Bernadette Catholic School, a parochial PreK-8th grade school, located in West Springfield, VA is seeking a full-time. licensed school nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

• Conducts emergency care and first aid to students for accidents and illnesses during school hours.
• Maintains detailed student health records regarding clinic visits, medical difficulties of students, screening results, physical examinations, and immunization records. 
• Ensures that state and local health requirements are met by students and teachers.  Is knowledgeable about the contents of the Virginia School Health Guidelines.
• Makes health appraisals through observation, interview, analysis of health records, and consults with administrators, faculty and parents.
• Acts as a resource to faculty regarding health education.
• Coordinates all health screenings (i.e., vision, hearing, and scoliosis).
• Keeps inventory and order supplies (within the budget allotted) when needed.
• Follows the Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen requirements.
• Respects the confidentiality of information this position becomes privy to when dealing with students.
• Accepts other miscellaneous duties related to health/clinic care as defined by the principal.
