St. Thomas More (STM) Cathedral School is in search of a full-time Office Staff Assistant/Permanent Substitute for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate must be faith-filled and passionate about the mission of St. Thomas More Cathedral School and Catholic education, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills with a service orientation.
Office Staff Assistant Duties:
- Provide support in the front office to ensure efficient operational flow
- Greet visitors and execute proper procedures to assist them
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls as needed
- Maintain and log record of mandatory online forms and information due for students
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, sorting, and delivering items to faculty as needed
- Attend weekly staff meetings as scheduled
- Monitor and ensure the safety and care of students during outdoor recess times
- Assist in the set-up and execution of extracurricular functions such as parent gatherings, staff celebrations, or student activities
Permanent Substitute Duties:
- Teach scheduled classes according to teacher's lesson plans
- Maintain effective classroom management
- Assist teachers as needed when Instructional Assistants are absent
- Develop and maintain a positive learning environment
- Ensure a safe, clean, orderly, and healthy environment for the children
- Uphold and support all school policies and procedures
- Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff as needed to resolve concerns or questions related to lesson plans, student behavior, or additional classroom needs.

- A spirited professional who encourages teamwork and motivates others for the good of the school, including committed and involved volunteers
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, and able to prioritize projects
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple projects/priorities
