IT Support Specialist

Bishop O’Connell High School is looking for a motivated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join the Walsh Center team.  The IT Support Specialist plays an essential role within the school community and supports the daily work of faculty, staff, and students as well as long-term projects in the IT Department.  The IT Support Specialist must possess both technical and interpersonal skills, especially fundamental knowledge regarding hardware, software, and networking technologies and communication with colleagues both technical and non-technical.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Install and configure computer hardware and software including printers, scanners, office productivity tools, cables, projectors, and others to ensure the smooth daily operation of the school.
  2. Respond in a timely manner to service requests in person, over the phone, or via email and support desk software.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate technical issues including hardware failures, cable faults, account permissions, network connections, content filters and others.
  4. Assist new employees with technical onboarding to ensure immediate access to all necessary systems and devices.
  5. Maintain accurate and complete documentation for assigned and loaned assets and processes and procedures for daily operations.
  6. Work with Director of Information Technology and Systems Administrator to test, configure, and implement new equipment and systems and refine policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

A current CompTIA Certification (A+, Network+, or Security+ preferred) or an associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related field.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to carry and install computers, peripherals, cables, and cords and will sometimes require the use of ladders and power or hand tools.

Compensation

 

This is a 12-month salaried, exempt position. Compensation is $60,000-$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
