Position Overview Queen of Apostles is seeking compassionate, responsible, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Extended Day Program team. This position provides an opportunity to engage with students outside of regular school hours, offering a safe and supportive environment for learning, play, and faith formation. The Extended Day Staff will be responsible for overseeing students before and after school hours, ensuring that they are safe, engaged, and encouraged in their personal growth in alignment with our school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage students during the morning (6:45 AM - 7:45 AM) and/or afternoon (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM) hours, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Lead and facilitate fun, age-appropriate activities that promote social development, teamwork, and positive relationships.
- Provide a structured environment for students to complete homework, engage in creative projects, or participate in recreational activities.
- Foster a Christ-centered atmosphere through daily prayer, spiritual reflection, and faith-building activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Ensure the safety of all students by adhering to school policies and procedures for emergency response, first aid, and child protection.
- Assist with the coordination of snack times, games, and other activities, ensuring that students are cared for and engaged.
- Act as a role model for students in areas of faith, behavior, and personal responsibility.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with children in an educational and faith-based setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Previous experience in childcare, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Demonstrated understanding and alignment with the mission and values of Queen of Apostles Catholic School.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and positive environment for students.
- Clear background check and safeguarding training required (training will be provided).
