St. Anthony of Padua lives out our Christian mission as a truly diverse school (economically, ethnically, linguistically - 12 languages spoken at home) that is proud to be the 2025 Porto Charities Inclusion Advocacy School of the Year. We offer an authentic Catholic education to every student, every day.
We seek a new member of our Middle School team who will inspire students and work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues in various departments. Our ideal candidate will have a deep devotion to the Catholic faith, a degree in English or related field, strong classroom management skills, and practice communicating compassionately with parents. Full-time teachers also serve as Homeroom Advisors who remain with a class for all three years.
The Middle School English Teacher is responsible for three double blocks of instruction, covering Reading and Language Arts, for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. We place an emphasis on students' writing ability, with the English Teacher providing structured opportunities to practice each related writing skill. Of course, all teachers are responsible for creating lesson plans, administering instruction and assessments of student understanding, as well as offering praise and constructive feedback. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and have a love for the students. To receive a contract, the chosen candidate must complete an application to the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools as well. |
