Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pre-k teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, committed to guiding young children (ages 3-5) through age appropriate learning activities, eager to integrate Catholic values into the classroom and foster social, emotional and cognitive development while ensuring a warm and nurturing environment where all students feel welcomed and loved. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, plan and implement engaging lessons as well as collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a faith-filled, positive, structured and creative pre-k classroom environment.
- Follow state guidelines, including maintaining an accurate student count and keeping all children within sight and sound.
- Develop and implement age and developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with diocesean curriculum standards.
- Utilize age appropriate STEM-based teaching strategies to promote problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and administration.
- Support the mission and Catholic identity of the school in all aspects of teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- An interest in teaching young children and a commitment to Catholic education and the values of Nativity Catholic School.
- Experience in early childhood education is preferred.
- Ability to integrate technology and STEM principles into instruction.
- Strong classroom management, collaboration and communication skills.
